Committees

The Clinton Chamber is thrilled to announce local volunteer opportunities are available to our Chamber Members and community through the Chamber’s 14 committees that assist with the planning and development of the varied programs and events the Chamber hosts throughout the year. Although sometimes overlooked, the Clinton Chamber has a wealth of programs and events that focus on improving the cultural and business climate in Clinton, as well as the overall quality of life.

Ever wanted to help organize a parade? Thought it might be fun to put together a music festival? Interested in contributing to the development of our area workforce? Well, now’s your chance! Consider serving your community by lending your talents and ideas and participating in one of the Chamber’s exciting committees:

  • Back to the Bricks Mississippi College Welcome Event (Main Street Clinton Partner)

Help with event promotion, recruit participants and door prizes from businesses, organize set-up, welcome students at the event, and clean-up/tear down afterwards.

  • Business Associates Social Hour (B.A.S.H. – After-hours Events)

Schedule two to three dates for events during the year, book venue, decide on theme, and arrange for food, beverage, and door prizes.

  • Business Spotlight Campaigns

Help select local businesses to highlight on Chamber social media, schedule and interview business owners, and write short articles with interesting findings for social media to promote our area businesses.

  • Chamber Annual Celebration Awards

Discuss nominated businesses and individuals for the Chamber Annual Celebration awards and help select award recipients based on predetermined criteria. Awards include Small & Large Business of the Year, Distinguished Service, and Outstanding Citizen.

  • Chamber Membership Recruitment & Retention

Visit new and established businesses in Clinton, explain the benefits of Chamber membership, and ensure current members understand and take advantage of their available opportunities with the Chamber.

  • Clinton Chamber Christmas Parade (47th year!)

Help decide parade theme, plan crowd/traffic control, promote event, recruit participants, support float award winners selection, assist on the day of the event, and collect all signage at parade end.

  • Clinton Chamber Youth Leadership (CCYL) Program

Contribute to the review and selection of annual CCYL participants, set meeting dates/book meeting locations, develop impactful opportunities and programming, contribute to the review and selection of annual scholarship recipients, and assist with recruitment promotions for local rising high school juniors and seniors.

  • Education Appreciation Luncheon

Assist with event date and location selection, recruit and book relevant speakers, and solicit and compile meaningful awards for local educators and honored students.

  • Partners for Progress: Workforce Development

Review the needs of our local business community and our educational resources, gather and compile research on new opportunities and what other cities have accomplished, develop initiatives and events to address our local needs and concerns, and support city efforts to build a more effective workforce pipeline.

  • Public Service Appreciation Luncheon

Assist with event date and location selection, recruit and book relevant speakers, and solicit and compile meaningful awards for local honored police, firemen, and city employees.

  • Red Brick Roads Music & Arts Festival (Main Street Clinton Partner)

Help with planning, promoting, and executing the many different aspects of the favorite annual festival before and on the day of the event, including the art experiences, kids’ area, decorations, market, music, talent show, homebrew competition, film showcase, and much more.

  • Shop Local Clinton Events (Bridal Bliss, Holiday Happening, Small Business Saturday, etc.)

Assist with the many shop local events in our area by selecting dates, rallying the community, promoting opportunities to business owners and activities to shoppers, organizing event materials/supplies/prizes, and developing new ways to support our local small businesses.

  • Taste the Town (Main Street Clinton Partner)

Recruit restaurants and other partners, solicit Silent Auction items, promote event with the public, organize set-up, assist if available at the event and clean-up/tear down afterwards.

  • Yule Run Clinton

Help decide race theme, design route/medal/t-shirt/decorations, set meetings, plan crowd/traffic control, promote event, recruit participants, help with packet distribution, assist on the day of the event, and collect all signage at race end.
