- How can I become a Clinton police officer?
City Hall accepts all applications for city employees. You must be 21 years old, have a high school education (a college degree is preferred but not required), and be of good moral character. You will undergo a thorough background check, physical fitness test, polygraph and psychological examination, and appear before a thorough interview board. If you make it through these steps you may be offered a job as a police officer. At that point you will be sent to the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officer’s Training Academy for 10 weeks of training. Clinton Police Department recruits typically graduate in the top 10% of their academy class.
