Parks & Recreation
The City of Clinton Parks and Recreation Department has received numerous state and national awards for their outstanding accomplishments ranging from facilities, programs, events to employees. The department has 5 parks and a Visitor Center under its park system and administers to over 80 recreational activities, special events and programming suited for all ages to enjoy; ranging from challenger league sports (for the mentally and/or physically disabled), to youth, adults and the senior adult population.
The department takes pride in serving the Clinton community by maintaining safe and attractive facilities to ensure opportunities for all users. The park system estimates to be over 200 acres in size which covers: 26 ball-fields, 7 concession stands, 12 batting cages, 9 pavilions, 10 tennis courts, 3 horseshoe pits, 1 nine-hole disc golf course, 2 shuffleboard courts, 3 basketball courts, 2 sand volleyball courts, 5 playgrounds, 3 walking paths, 3 shared paths and a programming facility.
Clinton Parks and Recreation Department continuously strives to offer professionally designed leisure programs and services that meet the changing needs and interests of all participants by; encouraging the development of positive attitudes through participation and sportsmanship, being diversified in programming opportunities, and assisting in the development of knowledge, interest and behaviors that promote a healthy lifestyle.
